Sangle ou TPU : Choisir son matériau
Il y a deux ans, les sangles en nylon étaient le seul sujet de discussion sérieux. Aujourd'hui, le marché est partagé. Voici comment choisir entre le tissage traditionnel et les nouvelles options en polyuréthane thermoplastique (TPU) disponibles cette année.
1. Sangle en nylon (Le classique)
Toujours la référence en matière de résistance à la traction. Si vous devez arrimer une tente lourde (consultez notre Guide de capacité de tente si vous hésitez sur la taille), les boucles en nylon sont la meilleure option. Cependant, le nylon mouillé gèle complètement par temps très froid et absorbe l'eau.
2. Sangles en TPU (La norme moderne)
Des marques comme TitanStrap et Voile ont popularisé le TPU.

Avantages : N'absorbe pas l'eau, reste flexible jusqu'à -29 °C, adhère aux surfaces lisses (comme les arceaux de tente) sans glisser.

Inconvénients : Peut se rompre sous l'effet de chocs soudains si elle est ancienne ou endommagée par les UV.
Conseil de Mason : Utilisez du nylon pour la compression structurelle (réduisant le volume de votre sac). Utilisez du TPU pour la fixation externe (skis, bâtons, piolets).
Le système MOLLE en 2026
Les accessoires pour équipement tactique sont désormais plus légers. Les anciens panneaux découpés au laser (modèle 2024) étaient rigides ; les nouveaux laminés micro-grille (modèle 2026) sont plus flexibles et plus légers.
Si votre sac à dos est équipé de passants PALS (Pouch Attachment Ladder System) ou de sangles, n'utilisez pas de mousquetons pour le matériel lourd. Ils pendent et se balancent. Préférez les Web Dominators ou les Grimlocs.

Réparation sur le terrain : Remplacement de boucle 101
Une boucle endommagée, surtout si vous ne pouvez pas la réparer, peut gâcher votre randonnée. En 2026, les boucles réparables sur le terrain seront la norme sur les sacs haut de gamme, mais les modèles plus anciens nécessiteront des kits de réparation.
La boucle de réparation Sea to Summit reste la référence. Elle utilise une goupille en acier inoxydable qui se dévisse, permettant de glisser la nouvelle boucle sur une boucle cousue sans couper les coutures.

Emportez toujours deux boucles de 20 mm de rechange et des attaches autobloquantes dans votre kit de réparation. La gravité ne tient pas compte de votre itinéraire.
Prix et valeur (projections 2026)
Les chaînes d'approvisionnement se sont stabilisées, mais la hausse du coût des matières premières pour les produits à base de pétrole (boucles en plastique, nylon) a entraîné une augmentation des prix d'environ 10 % depuis 2024.

Économies (5 $ - 15 $) : Attaches Velcro basiques et sangles en nylon standard. Idéales pour organiser les câbles à l'intérieur du sac, mais dangereuses pour les fixations extérieures.

Qui devrait éviter les cravates d'équipement ?
Je vois trop de randonneurs utiliser des attaches torsadées (fil métallique recouvert de caoutchouc) pour supporter des charges. Arrêtez cela.

Le risque : Fatigue du métal. Après des pliages répétés, le fil métallique casse, souvent sans signes extérieurs d'usure.

La règle : N'utilisez jamais d'attaches torsadées pour quoi que ce soit pesant plus de 1 kg ou pour un élément essentiel à votre survie (comme votre abri). Utilisez-les pour ranger vos câbles ou suspendre une lanterne, mais pas pour attacher votre sac de ravitaillement à une corde à ours.
Votre sac est un système, pas un sapin de Noël. Tout ce qui est fixé à l'extérieur doit être indispensable et solidement attaché avec des accessoires conçus pour résister aux aléas du terrain. En 2026, l'utilisation du TPU et des accessoires réparables sur le terrain simplifie plus que jamais la fixation sécurisée. Investissez dans des sangles de compression de qualité, vérifiez l'état de vos sangles et assurez-vous que votre chargement est bien tendu. Les sentiers sont déjà assez accidentés sans que votre équipement ne vous gêne.
